Summer Babysitter Bootcamp
Two Day Training


If you are 11 to 15 years old you are eligible to be a Red Cross Babysitter. You can get the knowledge, skills, and confidence to care for infants and children.


Combining video, activities, hands-on skills, and discussion for a complete learning experience; Babysitter Bootcamp shows you how to:

  • Respond to emergencies and illnesses with first aid, rescue breathing, and other appropriate care
  • Become certified in CPR Child/Infant with Standard First Aid
  • Make decisions under pressure
  • Communicate with parents
  • Write resumes, learn to do job interviews, solve problems and stay safe
  • Recognize safety and hygiene issues
  • Manage young children
  • Feed, diaper, and care for infants

Date: July 26th & 27th, 2010

 

Time: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm

> Participants will need lunch and snacks each day.

There is a local pizza restaurant within close walking or lunch can be packed.

> Participants should wear comfortable clothing and shoes; most skills are performed on the floor.

> Bootcamp certifications include: Babysitting (no expiration), Infant-Child CPR (1 year), First Aid (3 years)

> Each participant will receive a Babysitter portfolio with first aid kit, Babysitter workbook, First Aid quick reference guide, CPR barrier keychain, and Babysitter resource CD.
